You need to be vigilant with your safety of yourself and your possessions in this huge city. Walking is a great thing to do in New York, but do not walk alone at night in deserted street and parks. New York Tipping
It is customary to tip in America and New Yorkers adhere to this policy. Waiters, porters, hotel housekeeping and taxi drivers all expect to be tipped for good service.
