Atlantis Marine World
Atlantis Marine World, situated along the Peconic River, boasts many fascinating Marine Life Exhibits, Sea Lion Shows, Educational Programs and even a Submarine Simulator Ride. 431 East Main Street Riverhead, New York 11901 (631 208 9200)

Bronx Zoo
This award winning zoo is located on the Bronx River and spread over 250 acres and home to over 4,000 animals. Many of the habitats are designed to be as close to natural habitat as possible. Highlights here are the Baboon Reserve, Wild Asia, Jungle world, Tiger Mountain and the Congo Gorilla Forest. The Zoo Shuttle is great way to get around the zoo as well. Central Park Wildlife Center
The Wildlife Center leads you through tropic, temperate and polar habitats to encounter more than 450 animals of 130-plus species. Spread over 5.5 acres, children can hand feed some of the animals in the Children's zoo. East side between 63rd and 66th streets.

Prospect Park Zoo
The Prospect Park Zoo opened on October 5, 1993, The Prospect Park Zoo is part of the integrated network of zoos and aquariums spread throughout New York City. Located at 450 Flatbush Avenue, the zoo is situated on a twelve acre plot.

Staten Island Zoo
For over half a century generations of families have enjoyed frequent visits to the Staten Island Zoo. It is a small zoo but has an impressive reptile house. Located in Barrett Park. 614 Broadway

The Queens Zoo
This is a small zoo but a good one to visit as it is a tribute to the native American animals, and also features many endangered animals. 53-51 111th Street, Flushing, Queens (718 271 7761)
